The Bigger The Better, we came back to Anawangin Zambales last May 1 (Labor Day) and 2, 2009.

I was surprised that the participants went up from 3 to 23 people woah!

What we did?

It was purely Fun, Relax and an Adventure Trip, as we explore new places in Anawangin that we never been to before, we went deep inside the forrest and found out that there is a clean fresh water stream that we made "Tambay" most of the time, . we did underwater pictures and we brought new snorkling gears. We also played Ultimate Freesbee and Beach Volleyball. Bonding with old and new friends, and one of us also brought guitar and a hammock, ( I guess my previous blog helped them decide what to bring in the cove). And of course Picture taking all the time (as usual)!

After I enjoyed the Relaxing Anawangin Trip 2 weeks ago, Yesterday, I went to Morong Bataan with Oriental Tin Can Employees. Of course thanks to Jj, for sponsoring my trip !

"Lies in the western part of the province of Bataan, bounded on the west by South China Sea, Bagac in the south, Abucay, Samal, and Orani in the east, Hermosa and Dinalupihan in the northwest and Zambales in the north. It is approximately 50.48 kilometers from the capital town of Balanga and about 174 kilometers from Manila. Its total land area is 21,920.00 hectares or 15% of the total land area of Bataan. It is the second largest municipality, next to Bagac. Has about 7,983 hectares included in the Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority (SBMA) reservation area and 9,694.99 hectares identified as water shed-primary growth forest area. Has a total population of 18,731 as of 1995, comprising about 3.41% of the total population of the province of Bataan; it is the least populated among the twelve municipalities" - www.mybataan.com

Anawangin Cove

Anawangin Cove is a crescent (moon) shaped cove with an immaculate white sand beach and an evergreen forest cover near the shore , It's like Baguio meets Boracay as we described it.

Brief History:
"... The sand in Anawangin Cove is mainly Mt. Pinatubo lahar. I gathered some samples and it is very similar indeed to the lahar that can be found in Porac and Mabalacat on the other side of Mt. Pinatubo
.... The pine trees, (actually Agoho trees) did not exist in the area before the eruption of Mt. Pinatubo. Looks like the ash fall somehow brought with it Agoho seeds as well and they grew into the forest we see at Anawangin today." - By: EPPGArcia 2008

What to do in Anawangin:
Camp, Dive, Climb and Have Fun under the Sun!

- Camping : Set up your tent and hammock under the pine trees for shade.
- Bonfire : Gather fallen twigs and light up a fire for warmth during the night.
- Climbing : Get a nice view of the whole scenery of Anawangin Cove on top of the cliff.
- Trekking : Explore the Enchanted Forrest for wild animals and streams behind it.
- Beach Volleyball, Ultimate Frisbee, skim boarding, snorkeling and other outdoor and water sports you can think of. (we actually saw some people doing these activities)

What we did?

Day 1

3:00 am - We met at 24hour Mcdo Philcoa, had breakfast
4:30 am - Jay slept in the waiting area of Victory Bus Liner Caloocan, while the rest of us waited for the counter to open to buy tickets.
5:20 am - departed from the bus liner, slept throughout the trip.
8:00 am - Arrived in San Antonio Zambales Market, we split into two groups, one group is in charged of buying a gallon of water, another group is in charged of buying food in the market.
10:00 am - we went to Pundaquit and look for Robert, our contact boatman bought some ice cubes then we sailed for 30 minutes in open sea.
10:30 am - we look for campsite in Anawangin shore, set up the tent, build fire, cooked our lunch (fried tilapia), marinated pork chop and loin for dinner, then slept / chillax under the pine trees till 4:00 pm

4:00 pm - swim, take some pictures, and gather fallen twigs in the Forrest for bonfire.
6:00 pm - cooked crab and corn soup, hotdog, rice, took a bath then build a bonfire
around 9:00 pm - ate our dinner, hehehe it took us a while to cook in charcoal, we ran out of butane maybe because of the fire accident happened to us. - (see the link of the fire accident below)
11:00 pm - we went to shore pitch some blanket and portable light in the sand, and drink "Grandma" - Gran Matador Brandi hehehe.
1:00 am - slept in the shore, we didn't actually used the tent, but its fun to sleep in the shore with sleeping bag and "malong" or blanket on the sand.

Day 2

around 6:00 am woke up, took some pictures of the lake, then walked / trekked to the mountain cliff before the sun comes out, took some pictures again.
8:00 am - swim, sun bathing, stroll
10:00 am - cook breakfast (coffee, fried rice, itlog na pula with kamatis, lucky me pancit canton and hotdogs)
11:00 am - packed up, took a bath, eat lunch then head back to manila.

Getting There :
Commute via Victory Bus liner:
- Taxi from Philcoa to Caloocan Php 150
- Victory Liner Bus Caloocan to San Antonio Zambales Via Sta Cruz - Php 251
- Best Time to travel, 4:30 am (1st Trip to Sta Cruz)
- approx 3 hours travel time from Manila to San Antonio.
- There are two stop-overs during the trip, one is in Double Happiness Pampanga the other one is in Victory Bus Liner in Olongapo City.

In San Antonio, there is a market place where you can buy all the things you need to your camping trip.
* Remember that there are no modern facilities and establishments in Anawangin except for a couple of Restrooms and Water Pumps

From San Antonio Market take a tricycle going to Pundaquit shore,
Tricycle Fee : 30 php per person

Then take a 30 minute boat ride from Pundaquit to Anawangin Cove
Boat ride Fare : 800php per boat, 3-4 person
*note : prices will depend on your transaction with your boatmen.

In Anawangin, You need to pay 100php per person to the caretaker of the island.

What to Bring:
Tent : for sleeping, pitch your tent under the pine trees, there are no hotels and resorts available in Anawangin.
Hammock / "Duyan" : the best way to relax under the trees is with a hammock, there are serveral men who sell hammock on the shore but it is too expensive.
Water : Bring lots of drinking water since drinking from the water pump is not safe
Also bring your own food, there are no hotels and resorts that could prepare meals for you.
Life Vest or Floating Device: there are several stories in Anawangin that there is a strong current underneath the water or what they called Rip Tide, so it is better to be safe, bring a life jacket.
Flash light, lighter, sleeping bag, insect repellent, and other camping tools you need to survive the night.

Expenses:
Bus to San Antonio : 251 php
Tricycle to Pundaquit : 30 php
Boat to Anawangin : 200 php
Entrance Fee : 100 php
Room : Tent
Food : 200 php
Bus Fare back to Manila : 251 php
Tricycle back to San Antonio : 30 php

Total : 1062 php

Bottomline:
If you want to enjoy nature, beach, forrest, lakes, rivers and mountains in one place, Anawangin is the best place for you.

We also called it a Camper's Haven, a place where you can definitely relax and chill this summer.

I watched it last night and got me blown away and all I can say is "Wow" what a movie.
This film is one of the most amazing films I've seen in a long time. The plot and the narrative filming are a perfect 10. It was compelling and captivating and it deserved every award it received in Oscars.

Francis Magalona, the father of Pinoy Rap, passed away quietly today noon (March 6, 2009) at Medical City Hospital in Mandaluyong after waging a battle against leukemia for almost a year. He was 44.

Chinese New Year or Spring Festival is one of the most important traditional Chinese holidays. It is sometimes called the Lunar New Year, especially by people outside China. The festival traditionally begins on the first day of the first lunar month (Chinese: 正月; pinyin: zhēng yuè) in the Chinese calendar and ends on the 15th; this day is called Lantern Festival. We celebrate Chinese New Year with a reunion of friends and families just like Christmas and New Year in a Filipino way. Of course Tikoy is always present on the table and a new chinese calendar is posted on the room.

One of my resolutions this year is to go back in reading books, but I want it to be more high-tech so to speak, I want it to be an ebook and read it on my cellphone.

I have been trying to find a mobile software where I can read pdf files for my nokia6300, but no luck. I need it to view all the ebooks I downloaded on my pc to view it on my cellphone.

As I searched the net, I found an ebook ("The Bible") in java format that is compatible with my cellphone. So I immediately downloaded it on zedge.net, but the only problem with zedge's software is that it is always only on a trial version.

I went to wattpad.com and register and I found a lot of good titles for an ebook in java format. now, I have 67 ebooks on my cellphone and counting.

I downloaded titles from Fiction books like Harry Potter and Twilight to Motivational books like A new Earth by Eckhart Tolle and the Famous The Secret book to Reference Books like the dictionary, English 101 books and a lot more..

Are You a Frustrated Singer?

I have a new software on my Mobile phone that can play mp3 songs with lyrics, it’s cool because you can actually sing the song correctly as it acts like a karaoke on your cellphone. The mobile phone software I’m talking about is called Lyric Show Player;

LyricShow Player runs song lyrics synchronously, and enables to show E-books in parallel. This program took the first place at "Java Masters 2006"-Contest.

It is a java app that works on any S40 mobile phones. I’ve downloaded the 230x340 version so that it would fit on my screen. I also installed a software called mini lyrics on my desktop computer to download the lrc files. Then I placed the lrc files on the same folder with my mp3 on my cellphone.

Happy New Year to all !!!
It's been a while since I wrote my last entry, I've been very busy because of the things that happened to me on the last quarter of the year, but let bygones be bygones, It's a new year, and I know that everybody want to have a fresh start like I do!

What's Your New Year's Resolution?
New Year's Resolution : It’s that time of the year, when everyone is planning how to improve themselves for the new year.
I'm not really the New Year's resolution type. I'm really bad with it, I make them every year and every year I forget about them shortly thereafter. But I thought I'd give it another try this year, so I prepared 9 Resolutions for this year (2009) and post it here on an effort to follow through on some of them.

Resolution # 1:
Get Fit: I need to lose all the weight I've been gaining for the past couple of years.
Resolution # 2:
Sleep Early: Insomnia be gone, I need to practice to sleep early now, Ive been sleeping late for the past years, I can't sleep, not until all the movies on the TV are finished.
Resolution # 3:
Read as many Books as possible.
Resolution # 4:
Follow through on all of the exciting projects that I am currently working on.
Resolution # 5 :
Figure out my Day Job, I need to figure out what to do with myself, what job will make me happy and satisfied.
Resolution # 6:
Stress Less
Resolution #7:
Spend more time with my family.
Resolution #8:
Be more closer to God !
and my last but not the least resolution for this year:
Try to update my blog more often ! hehehehe....

Last night, it was raining so hard, it was so cold and so dark, the whole street has no lights (damn Meralco, it's brownout again), I received the strangest and weirdest text from my old friend and classmate in college, Alfie Uson, confirming if I was still alive?!? (What the heck...).

Well here's the whole story, when Alfie was on his way home, some girl named Manilyn (don't know if she was his friend) told him that I was hit by a truck on a highway and found dead on the street. Alfie immediately texted me if I'm okay, at first I didn't reply because I was asleep the whole day, so he called me on my cellphone four times, well it so cold and Im so tired assembling my new cabinet (just bought a new one yesterday), I didn't bother any rings on my cellphone, but when I woke up at 9pm he's text bothers me, asking me if i was still alive, at first I ignored it and ask him what in the world is he talking about, well to cut the story short, here's our little conversation on the text last night:

Alfie: "Pre, may kilala ka bang Manilyn, may kwento sya 2ngkol sayo grabe eh."

Me replied : "Wala ako kilalang Manilyn, Manilyn Reyes ung artista meron hehe, anu ba sinabi sau nun?"

Alfie texted twice : "Ikaw ba talaga yan Prince? Sabi kasi patay ka na!"

Me replied: " ako patay ? anu sabi ?"

Alfie: "Oo Patay na, nazagazaan ng bus sa highway?"

Me : "Bakit nman sino ba yun? e kung dedo na ako ngaun ano ako ngaun Mumu? hehe"

BEWARE OF SCAMMERS and Scumbags Out there !!!!

I was wandering who was responsible and what the hell was that text all about, why would someone told him about me like that, so i ask him what else did that girl told him.

Alfie : " Pre nung namatay ka may tao n may utang sayo tapos sya ung naniningil. 5k daw"

Alfie: " Ask ko kung kilala ka nya, sabi oo, nakasave kasi number nya sa akin sayo nakapangalan"

Me: " nakuha mo ba ung number and full name nya ?"

Alfie: "Oo pre un ung sabi nya, ito number nya 09194849759 "

From that text alone, I knew it was a scam, when money is involve there is no doubt about it.

So i texted him again and told him to be careful with that person.

Me: "Lahat naman pwde makaalam ng number ko, may pinost kc ako sa net na CP ko para sa mgpapacomputer repair. SCAMMER yan pre ingat ka!"

Alfie: "Txt ko nga, may karma sa ganon tapos gnago p nga ko e, gnago then kinonsensya panga me."

I told him to get her full name and report it to the nearest police station, It was a scammer no doubt.

Well, here's my thought, First of all, I never lend or borrow money from anyone, it's not in my system to borrow or lend anything unless it's really really important, Secondly I'm still alive, If someone told you like that again, ignore it, unless my brother told you so, hehehe, and lastly for those Scumbag Scammers out there, "Go to hell, Karma will definitely kick you in the A$$ someday."

How to bypass Bios Password

Have you ever been in a situation where your PC suddenly attack by a virus and there is no more solution except to format it?, and by the time you are ready to format the drive, the first boot was not set and an annoying pop-up is blocking your Bios Configuration because you forgot what you set on your password?

If you do, here is a simple instruction on how you can bypass Bios configuration and install your OS, but first, let me give you a little info on what virus, Trojans, and worms are , because most of the time these are the reasons why my customers brought their PC to me.

Virus Virus Virus ..

Your computer freezes frequently or encounters errors.
Unusual system messages or fake error messages appear.
Your computer slows down when programs are started.
You receive notification from your firewall that some applications have attempted to connect to the Internet, although you did not initiate this.
Microsoft Internet Explorer freezes or functions erratically.
Your computer automatically shuts down after displaying a System Shutdown message.
Registry entries have been added or removed to execute unknown programs at start up.

Here are some symptoms that your PC is infected with either a Virus, a Trojan or a Worm. Most of the time when my customer brought their PC to me for servicing, I always ask them if they have an Antivirus installed, but most of the time they answered none. what the...., so I always make sure that I will give them information and awareness about Viruses then give them advices on how to prevent these viruses from coming back.

What is a Worm, a Trojan and a Virus?

"A Worm is a small piece of software that uses computer networks and security holes to replicate itself. A copy of the worm scans the network for another machine that has a specific security hole. It copies itself to the new machine using the security hole, and then starts replicating from there, as well. The term worm was coined by John Brunner, a science fiction writer, in his 1975 novel Shockwave Rider. The hero, a talented programmer, created self-replicating computer programs that tunneled their way through a worldwide network.

A Trojan Horse is simply a malicious computer program that damages your computer system upon installation. The program claims to do one thing, such as pretending to be a game, but instead do something else when you run them. Some nasty Trojans will actually attempt to erase your hard drive. They were originally named after the historic Trojan horse used by the Greeks to conquer Troy because the first Trojan horse programs pretended to be innocent games or applications. Trojan horses have no way to replicate themselves automatically. Below you will find some of the various ways that viral related attacks can be transmitted and spread.

Computer viruses are actually small programs that have the ability to replicate themselves and then spread throughout your system in many ways. This is usually done without a user’s knowledge. Such programs may copy themselves to a shared network resources or mail themselves to E-Mail Contacts that are stored in your address book.After a Virus has infected your system, it will usually trigger itself in some sort of fashion. It can launch annoying pop up windows that repeatedly place messages on your screen. It can deny you access to your data files and even change your system configuration settings. In advanced stages of infection, a virus can cause major damage to your system as it can corrupt your files and render them unreadable. It can even start deleting files as well. A virus doesn’t always have to trigger itself upon infection. It can actually be programmed to launch at a specific time or on a specific date so that there will be no obvious sign of system infection. A virus will usually disguise itself and may even attach itself to another file, so as to trick a user into running it."

Now you know what these Trojans, worms and viruses are, please make it an SOP that if you don't want to lose your important data on your PC like most of my customers do, install an antivirus after you install an Operating System, there are lots of antivirus on the market but if you lack on budget there are few freewares on the net but be careful, some of it act as an antivirus but it's not.

Formatting a Hard Drive

I don't want to broaden this topic, but in the Internet, there are several ways on how you can format your hard drive and here is one example of it:

For Windows XP
1. If you want to save any of the data on the disk, back it up by copying it to a CD or another hard drive. Formatting will destroy ALL of the data on the disk.
2. Use the Windows XP CD-ROM to boot the computer.
3. Select the "Recovery Console" option.
4. At the prompt, type FORMAT C:

Resetting Bios
Yesterday, a customer sent me her PC to format, but the problem is that the first boot was set to Drive C and I can't configure the BIOS setup to set the first boot because of a security password which she also forgot, so heres what I did, first I read an article on how to bypass this password on BIOS and luckily i did it, I removed the password and the Bios was reset on its original configuration.

Here are the steps on how you can reset your BIOS Configuration. ( but be careful, make sure you follow the steps carefully)

The first, less invasive, attempt to bypass a BIOS password is to try on of these standard manufacturer's backdoor passwords:

Flashing BIOS via hardware
If you can't access the computer with the standard backdoor passwords, you'll have to flash the BIOS via hardware.

Using the jumpers
The canonical way to flash the BIOS via hardware is to plug, unplug, or switch a jumper on the motherboard (for "switching a jumper" I mean that you find a jumper that joins the central pin and a side pin of a group of three pins, you should then unplug the jumper and then plug it to the central pin and to the pin on the opposite side, so if the jumper is normally on position 1-2, you have to put it on position 2-3, or viceversa). This jumper is not always located near to the BIOS, but could be anywhere on the motherboard.
To find the correct jumper you should read the motherboard's manual.
Once you've located the correct jumper, switch it (or plug or unplug it, depending from what the manual says) while the computer is turned OFF. Wait a couple of seconds then put the jumper back to its original position. In some motherboards it may happen that the computer will automatically turn itself on, after flashing the BIOS. In this case, turn it off, and put the jumper back to its original position, then turn it on again. Other motherboards require you turn the computer on for a few seconds to flash the BIOS.
If you don't have the motherboard's manual, you'll have to "bruteforce" it... trying out all the jumpers. In this case, try first the isolated ones (not in a group), the ones near to the BIOS, and the ones you can switch (as I explained before). If all them fail, try all the others. However, you must modify the status of only one jumper per attempt, otherwise you could damage the motherboard (since you don't know what the jumper you modified is actually meant for). If the password request screen still appear, try another one.
If after flashing the BIOS, the computer won't boot when you turn it on, turn it off, and wait some seconds before to retry.

Removing the battery
If you can't find the jumper to flash the BIOS or if such jumper doesn't exist, you can remove the battery that keeps the BIOS memory alive. It's a button-size battery somewhere on the motherboard (on elder computers the battery could be a small, typically blue, cylinder soldered to the motherboard, but usually has a jumper on its side to disconnect it, otherwise you'll have to unsolder it and then solder it back). Take it away for 15-30 minutes or more, then put it back and the data contained into the BIOS memory should be volatilized. I'd suggest you to remove it for about one hour to be sure, because if you put it back when the data aren't erased yet you'll have to wait more time, as you've never removed it. If at first it doesn't work, try to remove the battery overnight.
Important note: in laptop and notebooks you don't have to remove the computer's power batteries (which would be useless), but you should open your computer and remove the CMOS battery from the motherboard

Other methods are difficult to do and might ruin your board, so I don't include it here on my blog, but there are more methods and steps on how you can reset you Bios on the net, research is the key !!!

Capones Island Revisited!

Sunday Morning, June 8 2008, the weather is good, the trip has been planned, all are prepared and pumped-up, ready for another Capones Island Adventure!

After what happen to us last three weeks on Pundakit (Capones Misadventures blog), we already learned our lesson to check the weather forecast before leaving Manila, we make sure that no storm signal number 3 will hinder our trip this time.

Not all early bird catches an early worm!
When all participants are present (Dhoc, Leila, Mark, Jo, Nelson, Ana and Jefford), we immediately went to Victory bus liner at Caloocan earlier than the last time we did (around 1:30am I think), we plan not to waste our time going to the market in Zambales and worrying about the time we spent for buying for our food supplies in the morning, so we decided to go to the station as early as possible and hoping that there is an early trip heading to Zambales, but when we arrived at the station, we are disappointed because the first trip was set at 4:30 in the morning, so we waited for around 2hours until everybody on the booth was awake.

Capones now and then..
The Bus trip to San Antonio Zambales took us about 3 hours with 15 minutes stop-over on Pampanga and Olongapo. Then we spent an hour bargaining with vendors at Zambales market, buying food, water and all the necessary things we needed for camping. After buying all the stuff we needed , we immediately went to pundakit port where Robert, our contact Boatman was already there waiting for us. He brought us to the same spot where we camped out 2 years ago, we ride his small banka and took us 30 minutes from pundakit shore to Capones Island.
The first time we are at Capones Island, we enjoyed the clear water and the beautiful white sand around us, There are no visible garbage(maybe a few sandals left by the tourist). We make sure that by the time we get off the island, we will leave no garbage behind, keeping the island as clean as possible. Unfortunately this time, I was surprised that the island became more populated and polluted than it was before, maybe because Capones Island is getting more popular for local and foreign tourist nowadays. I was somewhat disappointed because some tourist left their garbage behind, and the white sand was not that white anymore, maybe due to oil spills or the storm that hit it last time but nevertheless the island was still beautiful and the trip was fun fun fun !!!

Its's been a long time since I wanted to replace my old but handy Kodak C300 digital camera (now auctioned at www.sulit.com.ph).but I'm having a hard time choosing between these two newly released compact, point and shoot digital cameras I'm aiming for this year, The Canon Powershot A590IS and the Sony Cybershot DSC-T70. Both digital cameras marked good ratings and standings from the users and editors of the forums and review sites I have read, both cameras have 8 Mega pixels (which is standard for digital cameras nowadays), a 4x optical zoom, a 2.5 inch LCD screen, an expandable external memory and the best of all, an image stabilization and face plus motion detection system which is very helpful in focusing your subject specially when you are not using a tripod or you just have a shaky hands like me. They also both have the same image processor from their own SLR Cameras, for canon it has a DIGIC III processor(from canon's D-SLR series) and BIONZ(from alpha and H SLR series) for Sony, both cameras can take good pictures with its Carl Zeiss lens for Sony and canon's original lens (which claims to be the lens of Nasa's Hubble telescope on the outerspace). The only difference I noticed between them is the price, the battery, the style and the features which I am very particular of. (FYI:I really like to have an SLR Camera but I don't have enough budget for it, anyway thanks in advance for those who want to contribute one!).

Style vs Performance Which Do You Prefer?
Both Cameras are great, but each one has it's own strong points and weak points. For Sony , it is undoubtedly stylish, sleek and very attractive to look at, but i think it lacks performance (in terms of image details due to blurriness according to reviews) and lack of full manual control modes of the camera,but still, I love it's macro function over canon's a590IS (based on flick'rs group photos), on the other hand, Canon boasts its performance in color quality and image details plus it's cool manual control feature,but the downside of it was, it only uses a plastic material for its body which might easily break when you drop it, and a little bit bulky on the pocket.

CAPONES ISLAND MISADVENTURES

A Majestic Place...

It is my second time around here at one of my favorite Camping and beach island destination of Zambales, the Capones Island, the first time I set foot on this island was with my ex-officemates on the summer of 2006, I was captivated and fell in love with the place immediately and promise to come back again, which I did last May 17 2008, with my college friends and colleagues. With it’s crystal clear turquoise colored water, white crushed coral sand, a healthy trek at the mountain top (where you can see the whole panoramic, picture perfect view of the island as shown on many photos on flickr), the average water waves for surfer beginners, the old Spanish Lighthouse and the survivor feeling and warm sea when you go camping at night, who wouldn’t fell in love with this place?

The Plan

Before we pack for our summer outing to the island, we research a few background information and reminisce our old experience about the place, we do this every time we go to our destinations to lessen the questions and hesitations of my first-timer colleagues and the fact is that, it is my first time to commute going to this place, we also did some research of the place for planning the Iterinary budget, travel hours, activities, food preparation, etch, etch, anyway here’s what we've got:

The place itself

The island is a 2 kilometer, long-boned shape surrounded with white sand and rocky shores which is good for camping and several huge cliffs which may serves as a shade for the summer heat. The island is also known as “Isla de Gran Capon” during the Spanish era and serves as guide for sea faerers because of an old Spanish solar powered lighthhouse (Fura de punta Capones), built way back 1890, its old but still beautiful, with its original red painted brick house beside it. The lighthouse is the only stablishmnet you’ll find there but still it gives a dramatic view of an old spanish style structure which many photographers loved and make your visit there a worthwhile. On the other side of the island is a long stretch of white sand shore where the a famous Telenovela in the philipines, Marimar, was shot. Close to the Capones island is the Camera Island, a two small islands which are connected by a sand bar.

How to get there:

Capones Island is located few kilometers offshore from the shores of barangay Pundakit, Zambales, (where MYMP Get Me, MTV was shot), it will take you 3 hours or so bus trip from Manila passing through Olongapo further north to San Antonio via a VICTORY LINER BUS, The liner is located at Monumento (In front of Ever Gotesco), Caloocan City, board Sta Cruz or Iba Zambales and tell the conductor of the bus to drop you off on San Antonio Plaza/Market, then a 10-15 minutes tricycle ride from San Antonio Plaza to Pundakit Shore and a 30 minutes or so of a bumpy "bangka"(small boat) ride to reach the island. The fare we paid was approximately P270 for the bus, 50 pesos for the tricycle and the boat ride will depend on your boatmen you’ll negotiate with).

After having all this information it is time to go!

The Miscalculated Plan

All are set with full battle gears to camp out, we even have 3 tents, enough money for food supplies, swimwear, ice coolers, sun block lotions, fully charged cameras, etch, there is nothing to block our way to go to the island except one, Cosme, a signal number 3 storm that hit Zambales. Here in Manila the weather hasn’t changed dramatically with its hot humid temperature and a little bit of rains, what could go wrong?, but when we reached the island you’ll see the wrath of the storm, Huge waves and fast winds welcomes us when we reached Pundakit, we cannot even go to the island because the boatmen refused to sail due to huge waves, and the wind blows so hard that it hurts when it touches your skin maybe because of the sands that gushes with it. Anyway the trip was a failure, yet still, we manage to enjoy the misadventures we did, we took some pictures before we left, and on that same day we head back to Manila and laughed at our mistakes.

Will I Ever Go back?

Hell yes!, but this time, I will include the weather forecast to the plan and will never ignore it before we leave Manila. In fact June 8-9 is the best date to go back, so I am hoping that no bad weather will block our way this time.

This is my first attempt to write a blog, and I'm not sure if this would be my last, I know that I'm not good in writing but I'll still try to give you a glimpse of my adventures and misadventures of my life, just let me know when you stumbled a wrong grammar or misspelled words along the way! Hmmmmm.. what to say ...what to say...
For sure, I'm not good in words, and I'm not good in writing stuff, I failed my English class twice when I'm in high school (hate those silly essays!) but I really excel on mathematics, science and computer stuff , thanks to my professors and to discovery channel. I don't know, but some people are good in sharing things or solving problems mathematically or scientifically with formulas and pictures rather than explaining things in sentences and in paragraphs, others are vice versa, maybe you cannot excel on both, but you can manage to practice both of them to improve it. Anyway, what I've decided to do with this, is to create a photo-blog, you know!, I will take some pictures with my old but nifty camera and place it here, well of course there is a story behind on every photo right? but a single picture can tell you ALL the details you'll need to know.
